Choosing the first process to review

What makes a process a good first candidate, and why files driven by a partner’s judgment usually are not.

The first call with a firm lasts 20 minutes and has one goal: choosing which process to review.

What a good candidate looks like

A good candidate repeats every week, takes hours of skilled people’s time, and is mostly reading, writing or moving information between documents and systems.

Some of the processes we look at first:

  • onboarding a new client and collecting their documents
  • preparing an engagement letter or a proposal
  • answering the same client questions by email
  • turning meeting notes into tasks and follow-ups

What to leave for later

Processes where a partner’s judgment drives every file are usually a weak first choice. AI can help around the edges, but the hours saved are small and the risk is higher.

If you are unsure where to start, that is what the first call is for.

Start with a 20-minute call.

Write to mattia@mullionstudio.com with a line on your firm and two or three times that work for you. If a review makes sense, we agree on scope and price in the same call.
